This was an invaluable event for me as a newly appointed Caldicott Guardian which was a new responsibility included within my portfolio as Associate Medical Director at our Trust. Helen Dyer presented us with a comprehensive range of knowledge resources and tool kits besides weblink and network suggestions to become part of. I came out of the day thinking, I can certainly fulfill my role as Caldicott Guardian with more confidence and enhanced understanding of what the expectations are of the role at its best. She gave us pointers on how we can strengthen the robustness of governance framework and processes of reporting and accountability around the role working alongside the Data protection officer and SIRO within the organisation.
